Raises Funds For Old Tower ~ The Tower Bond
Clapham
parish church is dedicated to St.James. Its tower may date back
to 1160AD, the date of the first record of a priest attached to
this church. In recent months local people have been working hard
to raise more than £80,000 to pay for modernisation and improvements
in the ancient tower - a toilet and small kitchen for parish events,
electical winding for the 19th. century tower clock, three additional
church bells, a new safer frame to hold all six bells and two new
floors to replace the old unsafe structures.

One
of the ways in which this money is being raised is by selling £15
Tower Bonds. Each Bond gives the holder entry in the monthly draw
for a year. Below are the winning numbers which have been drawn
so far, up to and including September 2009.
